The Omada Story
When Katie and Jessyca met as co-workers, they realized recruiting wasn’t just about filling as many jobs as possible. Omada was formed on the foundation that recruiting is about building relationships.
Katie and Jessyca value their clients and work to build relationships based on trust and collaborative energy. As their recruiting style developed, they realized it centered around one theme: team.
Katie & Jessyca, Omada Search's Founders
Focusing on building a great team is vital to the success of any organization – and that’s where the inspiration for “Omada Search” came from.
“Omada” is the Greek word for “team”. Katie and Jessyca explored many options when naming their company. They sought a name that would show who they are and what they stand for.
Ultimately, no matter how many words, names, or phrases they came across, they continued to come back to “Omada”.
And that is why Omada exists today – to help you build and grow your team to ensure your company’s longevity and success!
Core Value Statement:
We bring authenticity to every interaction, unwavering integrity, and commitment to growth.
The Omada Search Team
Katie Marriott
Managing Partner
Katie spent most of her younger years moving from state to state due to her father serving in the Navy. It was tough at the time, but now it’s a cherished part of her past that did a lot to shape her into the person she is today. Katie graduated from high school in Virginia Beach, which she still considers to be home, and went off to college at the University of Florida to study advertising.
That is where her career in sales ultimately started – as just a summer job with Vector Marketing, where she sold CUTCO knives – and a lot of them! She quickly realized that she had a knack for sales and everything that went along with it – personal growth, public speaking, the art of persuasion, and the idea that you can push yourself to achieve your goals. She worked with Vector Marketing throughout college and continued as a District Manager in Jacksonville, FL after graduation.
Katie moved to Charlotte in January 2014 and soon after found executive recruiting. It was everything she loved about sales coupled with the ability to learn about people, companies, and the way the world worked from a business perspective. And that, along with the push and encouragement of her business partner Jessyca, is how Omada Search was born!
Katie currently lives in South Charlotte with her husband, two sons – Cooper and Miles, and their two pups. She loves to stay active, play sports, travel and she is an avid college football fan (go Gators!).
Jessyca Shuttleworth
Managing Partner
In 2013, Jessyca embarked on her sales journey at an executive search firm in Charlotte, North Carolina. Though her initial role as an executive recruiter presented challenges, Jessyca’s resolute ambition and unyielding determination gradually transformed her slow start into a remarkable success story over the course of four years. Her commitment to relentless hard work not only propelled her to become a top performer within the company but also ignited her aspiration to forge her own path.
Fast forward six years from that pivotal moment, Jessyca, along with her business partner, breathed life into Omada Search, a visionary recruitment agency. Jen is a compassionate recruiting professional with over a decade of recruiting experience within the tech, healthcare, and manufacturing industries. She owned and operated her own recruiting business prior to joining the Omada team!
She essentially “fell” into recruiting when she was in her early 20’s. Recruiting allows her to create a safe space of thoughtful decision-making, fostering a positive and empowering experience for clients and candidates all while feeding the hungry entrepreneur inside!
Fun Fact: When Jen was in elementary school, she would stand at her neighborhood entrance selling handmade paintings and then opened an Etsy shop when she turned 17 selling jewelry. The hustle is in her blood!
Beyond her profession, she has an immense love for animals, the arts, a passion for deep connections, and a profound belief in the power of mindfulness. She likes incorporating fun into her every day and doesn’t believe in taking life too seriously!
Kali Bloom
Senior Recruiter
Kali comes from an accounting background. First interning with Ernst Young and shifting gears to join Teach for America. Still searching for the right opportunity to utilize her love for connection and business savvy, she came across recruiting. Recruiting provided her with the opportunity to rejoin the corporate world while fostering her desire to build relationships.
Kali has been in the recruiting industry for over a decade. She has built her craft over the years and found true joy in guiding candidates to their next opportunity while also uniting employers with the best talent for their organization.
Outside her professional life, Kali has two boys – Everett and Silas. She and her husband have a love for running. Any given weekend you will find them at a local 5K “strollering” the boys along with them.
Frequently Asked Questions
How nice of you to ask! We love working with Hiring Managers who are eager to fill a position on their team and wonder what they can do to make the process as efficient as possible. Here are a few things that make our job a whole lot easier:
Provide as much upfront information as possible. We use what you share to sell the opportunity to a passive audience and determine fit. Things like work environment, perks and benefits, industry nuisances, company culture, software and technology, business objectives and advancement opportunities can all be helpful when fielding questions from potential candidates.
Collaborate with us. We thrive off feedback and pride ourselves in being able to pivot and immediately implement it quickly. If you like a profile, tell us why. If you don’t, tell us why not. If there is a way to communicate with you better, share that with us. Our goal is to make your job easier and our relationship as efficient as possible.
Communicate in a timely manner. In business, time kills deal and that’s true in today’s job market. 69% of candidates say that the interview process and timeliness have a significant impact on job decisions.
We will find the right candidate for the job by any means necessary! Kidding…but not really.
We use several tools to find the right candidate, but LinkedIn is hands down what we use the most. We’ve found that it’s the best tool to identify top talent and communicate with passive candidates. Sure, we have a deep network of qualified individuals that we tap into and ask for referrals from, but the candidate market changes quickly. And sure, we use certain job boards, but headhunting has proven to give our clients the best value – being able to engage and attract candidates that they wouldn’t be able to get in front of on their own. We also use a variety of technology and tools to get in touch with people, research companies and competitors, and provide top-notch customer service.
Has never happened, won’t ever happen. Go ahead, try us…
We are in the people business and for a variety of reasons, sometimes things don’t work out. At Omada, we are committed to the long-term success of your organization and the long-term happiness of our candidates. That’s why all of our search services include a guarantee, which means that we will attempt to find a replacement for the position at no additional charge. The length and terms of the guarantee are determined and documented when the our agreement is put in place.
